This Master Craftsmanship Award winning project converted a dilapidated parking lot at the corner of 6th and Main Street in Rapid City into a 44,000 square foot civic space open to all for enjoyment. Main Street Square features seasonal ice skating, interactive fountains, granite spires, and a public stage. The construction project included site demolition; sitework and utilities; concrete construction; modern brick and granite pavers; exquisite granite sculptures and spires; electrical and mechanical work; illuminated fountains that synchronize to the music system; new bathrooms; Zamboni room; and landscaping. SECO had to design rigging hardware to set the massive granite stones which weighed up to 25 tons each. The entire project is also barrier free and ADA accessible.
